The daughter of the late George and Aria Holland Rutledge, Mrs. Pitts was born in Ft. Mitchell, AL. She was a member of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church for over 60 years where she served faithfully and diligently with the Pastor's Aide Committee, Missions Ministry, Youth Department, Deaconess Ministry, Senior Choir and the Kitchen Committee. She was retired from Civil Services, Ft. Benning, GA.

Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Deacon Henry Pitts, Sr.; her son, Henry Pitts, II and two daughters, Henrietta Pitts and Leila Pitts-Chester. 


Survivors include: her loving grandchildren, Adrain L. Chester Mackey (Luther), Twyla U. Chester, Henry S. Pitts III and Eric K. Pitts (Marshelle); six great grandchildren Londen, Alyssa, Alexia, Aaliyah, Matthew and Kristina; one daughter in law, Pearline Pitts-Holt; one sister-in-law, Arilla Rutledge; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
