My Mommy

Leilani Jean Smith passed away May 20th, 2011 surrounded by her family and friends, after a lengthy illness at the age of 71.
Born in Bellville, Illinois on January 26, 1940 to Raymond and Antoinette Rohn. At the age of six, she and her sister Donna moved to the San Gabriel Valley where her father was a baker, owning his own bakery in Bellflower, CA.
Leilani worked in the restaurant service trade for many years while raising her family, including owning and operating her own restaurant in Ridgecrest, CA in Kern County where she met her husband, Dan.
In 1987 she and her husband moved to Galt where she became active in the antiques and collectable business.
She enjoyed yard sales, auctions, Bingo & Casino action, spending time with her children, grandchildren, friends and gardening around the house.
She is survived by her husband Dan Smith of 25 years, six sons Gene Hoyle of Oregon, Richard (Luce) Hoyle of Tennessee, William Tiger of Connecticut, Mark (Sheri) Hoyle of Lodi, Matthew Hoyle of Ohio, Raymond Hoyle of Stockton, her daughter Kathleen (Gary) Seddon of Galt, two stepsons Jonathan (Erica) of S.C. and Kenneth Smith of San Diego. She has 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and aunt Holly of Webster Groves, Missouri. She was lovingly known as "Mom" to many of the children's friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Donna.
She and her "Gibbs Slapping" will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
