Hi Pop. Was just thinking how much i could use you're advice right now. Loved being able to call you in AZ or drag you here to our house to use intelligence far superior to my own. You were always willing to help and advise me and I miss that greatly!

Today is your birthday. Hope you are enjoying it in that house not made with hands. I miss your wisdom, interesting humor, and most of all not being able to call and just say hi. The only thing that gives me peace is the fact that you are with our Creator watching over us.

I know this sounds nutty but the car sensors, which went absolutely ballistic from the day before Linda's visit until the day she returned home, have been silent until today. Today we had 2 episodes of erratic beeping....but of course... Happy Birthday!

We wanted to send our love and prayers to you and your entire family and to let you know that we have such fond & fun memories of your years in Flanders. Len was always there to help Bob with a project and Linda to share a great recipe. We could not have asked for better friends and neighbors. Love, Eve & Bob

Pop, thank you for all the good times and everything you taught me over the past 20 years. You were a blessing in my life and your memory will live in my heart until I see you again. I know you are now with the great architect in the sky watching over us. You will be missed greatly!

Thanks Len,(and Linda) for modeling what a loving marriage should look like. You shared your values with your son, teaching him honesty, integrety, loyalty and to be a diligent worker just as you were. I know you will continue to influence our lives, so can I ask that you now pass on a little of those fabulous organization skills you utilized here? We love you.

Signature plaid shirt

January 4, 2011

Short sleeve, long sleeve, flannel, or cotton -- you could count on one thing. PLAID.  And, if it wasn't plaid, it was a solid colored polo.

The only criteria for making it on his back was it had to have a pocket to put that pen in.  No pocket, no go.

PS - you could count on the fact that after laughing this hard, he would start to wheeze and cough to clear his throat, and wheeze some more, and turn beat red.
