The Way It Was by Leo the Wonder Boy
On March 01, 1950, in alittle town called Empire, it happened.
A fine young man was born to the Cranford's, Herbert and Chris.
This was to be the last child and he was.
The brown in his eyes was of such fineness. His body big and strong.
Herbert said to Chris, a child so fine should have the name of Leo, the Wonder Boy and so he did.
The childhood day's of Leo was nothing extra but great. Finishing school in '66, Leo met his love to be. It just happened that she was Peggy, the Wonder Knight.
Getting tied together, Leo and Peggy produced two more Wonder Girls. These were Sarah and Monk Wonder.
After staying in the city for a number of years, we moved to the farm to make our own "Dallas". The first year we raised so many chickens, I had to burn part of them up (20 to be exact); just trying to thin them out.
So then, I got in the goat line of farming. I got Peggy two Wonder Goats to prove my love for her. After all, 40 dollars worth of goats will show & prove you a lot of stuff.
The girl Wonder Goats were wondering if we would ever have Little Wonder Goats. Then someone said we had to have a Boy Wonder Goat before they could produce Little Wonder Goats. We got two.
Then it got hot and the heat burned up all of our corn, the well went dry, and the chickens produced no eggs. And that was all bad!
But the good part of it, is that when you got a Wonder Wife with Wonder Kids, chickens & goats, it's worth anything.

My Star in Heaven
Leo Wynne Cranford
God's finger touched him and he slipped away
From earth's dark shadows to a brighter day;
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hills were hard to climb;
He gently closed his weary eyes,
And whispered, "Peace be thine."
To a beautiful garden this friend has gone,
To a land of perfect rest;
Though he is gone he still lives on
In the garden of memory.
I love you daddy!

This was the text messages that Leo and Tater exchanged a few days before he left to go be with Jesus. His unconditional love for her is evident and her's for him. A common love blessed by the Lord. THANK YOU, JESUS.
The Man - Leo Cranford
He always had a smile and would always make you laugh. He loved doing things for other people.
Leo was a family man; he loved babies, always riding them around in anything that had wheels.
He loved to plant things just to watch them grow, like the 20 ft tall oak trees in the front yard.
He loved working with his tools in the shop, making things or repairing broken things. He loved buying tools and equipment and then trading equipment with his friends.
His favorite toy was his tractor; always looking for something to do just so he could use it; like cut the field, scape the road, spray the fruit trees, plow the spot for the garden.
His hobbies were riding his motorcycle and of course, fishing ( he just bought a new boat, and I can't count the number of rods and reels he had.)
He loved farm animals; his favorite were chickens and goats, He loved going to the auction and bidding on the chickens and goats.
He had two favorite times of the year.1) Easter- when we had the family reunion just so he could help the kids find the eggs. 2) Christmas - when he and the fellows would cook the Christmas ham in a wash pot outside and stay up all night and fellowship.
Leo was bigger than life and EVERYONE LOVED HIM.
I MISS YOU
I had the best dream ever last night. I came home and you were sitting in
your chair wearing your favorite yellow shirt. I went up to you and I said "I've missed you"; you gave me the biggest and longest hug ever and your reply " I MISS YOU".
Daddy's Hands
I remember Daddy's hands, folded silently in prayer And reaching out to hold me, when I had a nightmare You could read quite a story, in the callouses and lines Years of work and worry had left their mark behind
I remember Daddy's hands, how they held my Mama tight And patted my back, for something done right There are things that I've forgotten, that I loved about the man But I'll always remember the love in Daddy's hands
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin' Daddy's hands, were hard as steel when I'd done wrong Daddy's hands, weren't always gentle But I've come to understand There was always love in Daddy's hands
I remember Daddy's hands, working 'til they bled Sacrificed unselfishly, just to keep us all fed If I could do things over, I'd live my life again And never take for granted the love in Daddy's hands
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin' Daddy's hands, were hard as steel when I'd done wrong Daddy's hands, weren't always gentle But I've come to understand There was always love in Daddy's hands
Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin' Daddy's hands, were hard as steel when I'd done wrong Daddy's hands, weren't always gentle But I've come to understand There was always love In Daddy's hands
