Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. | ![]() |
On Robbie Burns Day, January 25th 2012 at 11:25 PM in the Palliative Care Unit of Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with his wife Mary, sons Ron and Glenn, and niece Karen at his side, Leonard William Scott peacefully succumbed to the disease that plagued him for the past five years.
If you are inclined, a donation in his name to one of his favorite charities in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.

"My friend, my mentor, my coach and my Father, So many memories, so much yet to say to him. I will always cherish the memories of fishing, golfing, tennis, yelling at the NHL refs on TV, and of course all of the wonderful snacks and junk food we so much enjoyed together.I can only hope now that he is safe and resting, happy for what we had together. I will always miss you dad. XXXOOO"
"Mike and I have so many wonderful memories of Len and (Mary of course.) It is very hard to sum up all the wonderful times we both have spent with him,"unique" is only one word to discribe Len, I worked with Len at Volunteer Nanaimo and Mike spent time golfing and fishing with Len.You will be missed so very much, but never forgotten, you are a cherished friend.till we meet again............."
"Sheila-Gurney and I are so sorry to hear this news and have just been reading the obituary and looking at the photos. They are certainly bringing back memories for Gurney of working with Len. They are also bringing back memories for both of us of the evenings we enjoyed with you both before your move to BC. Please know that you and the family are very much in our thoughts at this sad time."
"One lucky day, Len walked into the office of Volunteer Nanaimo. It took a minute to realize that he was a brilliant man, who was light years ahead of me. He brought our office into the age of technology. Len would laugh at our questions and with patience provide us with explanations. Len brightened everyone’s day with his wonderful sense of humor. He was a good friend he will be missed."
"As the mother of Matthew, Len's grandson I am very sad that Matthew
will not get to know his grandfather and hope that he will remember him from the visits he had. I am very saddened by the loss and will always remember Len, his love of hockey, family and great sense of humour! My heart goes out to Mary, Ron and Glenn."
"I remember the years very well growing up on Clark Street with Len and my brother hanging out. Then, the years when he and Mary connected, probably through Bill as Mary lived behind us when we moved to Molsen in Rosemount. We were all teenagers together. Sorry we haven't kept in touch over the years but have thought of both of you often. So sorry to hear of your loss. Love Judy"
