His Life
January 11, 2013

Mr. Leroy Rutledge was born on March 1, 1941 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Willie Mae Hopson and Edward Boston, Sr. He entered into eternal life peacefully on January 3, 2013 at West Georgia Hospice.

He attended school in Hogansville, Georgia where he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He later moved his membership to St. Mary United Methodist Church. On February 2, 1964 he joined in Holy Matrimony Helen Jean Winns. Together they nurtured five loving daughters.

He was employed at William Bonnell for many years. Leroy was an avid outdoors man. Leroy was a wonderful person and a pleasure to be around for any and everyone who was fortunate enough to cross his path. There was never a moment where his presence was unknown. Fun was his forte; and was no stranger to the community.

Leroy was affectionately known as “Shine” by some and “Ned” by others.

Special thanks to a special sisters and faithful caregiver Dorothy Ann Harris.

His legacy will forever live on to be cherished with many memories in the hearts and minds of his five daughters, Sheila Rutledge, Hogansville, GA; Vickie Truitt (Ricky) of Newnan, GA; Clarrisa Hill (Willis), Newnan, GA; Beverly Rutledge of Newnan, GA; and Ramona Rutledge Johnson, Newnan, GA; brothers and sisters: Bobby Jean Rutledge, Dorothy Ann Harris (Thomas), Marshall Rutledge, Willie June Rutledge, Martha Jean Crissom (Sampson), Danny Rutledge (Dora) Geraldine Carter (Kevin), Joyce Boston, Rosie Boston, Edward Boston, Jr., fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; also a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
