Les and the Band
It was the year 2000 and I was living on 2301 Kentucky St. in Arlington next to Les.
I went over to his home and asked him politely if he turn down the music... The next thing I knew he was singing "She's a Down" . I don't remember if that was the title... but seriously... he was awesome... and instead of going to sleep early... I spent the morning hours with Les. We went to meetings together...and dinner. He was a big fan of Red Lobster! and he did at times tell me many stories about Iowa, and his love of the Marine Corps.
He always tried hard to listen to me, and gave me good advise. He was honest to the core. I lost touch with him when I left the country for Thailand... I had tried recently to find him... And I'm not sad. He was Mr. positive, and on this website... He lives forever. Anyone that new Les was filled with envy. Damn that boy could play! I love his music, I miss his voice, and I miss the man.
He helped many people, and though I admit he could be wreckless at times. There was so much good in this man. I hope that his daughter and son stay clean, and honor his memory... On the one thing that he was proud of -- them.
All I can say to Les... You were one of the Best. Amen.
Happy Veteran's Day Dad!
My bud Les, the "Rock Star"
I had the pleasure and honor of working with Les for some years. I always called him "Rock Star", we shared the same passion for music and had many coversations about one day jamming together. What a gentleman and true professional. The photo I uploaded on Les' memorial site was one I took the last time I saw Les. He had gone out to dinner with the whole gang right after a work day. You can tell my the look on his face that he was so ready to tear this lobster dinner up! What a great guy, he will always be remembered...
Very sad to hear about Les' passing. My thoughts an prayers are with all of is family and friends.
