Dear David, Stacey, Daron & Keith, I am at a loss for adequate words to express my sadness for you. I had the blessed opportunity of knowing your mom and I know heaven just received one of the most special angels. You are a reflection of your mom in the way you treat people with respect and empathy. Not to mention the way you make each person feel loved. I am so sorry for your loss. May God wrap his loving arms around all of you thru this difficult time. God bless you and all your families. I love you all.

Am going to miss you Little Sis! Only recently Lindee once again told me about an interesting anecdote concerning her and Mom. When Mom drove me to the bus station so I could depart for the Navy, Lindee came with us. She started crying because I was leaving. Mom pinched her and told her to stop crying because it would upset me!

I went to your house and went inside for the first time since you've been gone. I snooped through your pictures like I did for your 60th birthday party, only this time was much harder. I miss you.

A fitting poem.

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filed room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me--but let me go.

For this is a journey that was all must take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me--but let me go.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

THE HUMONGOUS CATFISH
Here's another amusing incident that Lindee related to me:  Her sons Daron and Keith were living with her in Glasgow, Montana in 1988.  Daron was about 13 and Keith was about 10.  Lindee told me that they lived very close to the Milk River.  She told me that one day after she left for work the boys decided to go fishing.  They lived close enough that they could walk to the river.  When she came home from work they were very adamant that she not use the upstairs bathroom.  Lindee said "I finally had enough of their not letting me go upstairs, as my bedroom was also up there, anyway when I finally went up there, to my horror it was something right out of a Stephen King movie.  There in my pink bathtub was a three-foot catfish.  They had caught it and decided they were going to keep it for a pet.  They brought it home in a five gallon bucket.  I thought I had literally damaged my vocal cords from screaming.  I was very close to a flight and a half of stairs and fell down them.  Neddless to say I did not have to tell them to remove the critter from my bathtub.  They took it back down to the river and let it loose.  Later it was hilarious, but at the time I was scared to death to go to the bathroom upstairs for several months."

"Big Red"

February 5, 2014

I remember several years back when Linda lived in Montana she drove down to San Antonio, TX to visit David and I and she stayed with us for a week.  She found out the Target store had Big Red on sale for 2 for $5 on the 6 pack bottles.  While David was at work she said "hey Dorothy lets go get some Big Red since they don't sell it in Montana, I am taking some back home with me so I said sure lets go".  We had a blast shopping and laughed and laughed when we tried to stuff them all in the trunk of the car.  We could barely close the trunk and we showed David when he got home from work and he got a big kick out of it too.  We were not very close at first but once she moved to Texas we were able to become friends and her love grew on me.  I can't drink a Big Red today without thinking of that story and it brings back good memories and lots of laughter.  Linda you were my mother-in-law for 28 years and you will truly be missed by us all.  Jesus had better plans for you, he needed another angel to help him so enjoy the peace and love in Heaven.  I love you.
