Uno Champion

September 25, 2019
Lisa was the undisputed Uno champion of the family.  We spent many a night playing Uno when in hospital, and she took no prisoners when playing her last card down, usually with all of us holding mega score cards like draw two’s, and the dreaded draw four wild cards...

Not even her wise and talented Granddad could wrestle a Uno win against Lisa. And talk about poker faces!!! The smile and giggles as she celebrated will always be remembered.

love you sugar lips,

Dad xx

Movie Nights

September 24, 2016

We loved our family movie nights, watching videos on the VCR. We would always set up the event early and ask the kids to make up movie tickets. Lisa loved drawing the tickets and setting up the lounge room with cushions and rugs. Then it would be baths and PJ's, then we would make pop corn. Innocent fun and laughter, snuggling all together, tired heads nestled in our arms.

Love you sugar lips ❤️

The Best Hugs

September 24, 2014

I remember how you would try and wrap you arms all the way around me and give the best hugs.  You were always a very affectionate girl.  You also had a bit of a temper at times.

One time when we were shopping for food in the supermarket, you had a bit of a temper tantrum, and you decided to lie on the floor of the shop and carry on.  I had to resort to the "old" distraction tactic to take your mind off your current focus of attempting to embarrass me... you were successful, I was embarrassed.  But I don't think you got what you wanted though...

Princess Lisa

May 12, 2014

Golden hair, big blue eyes,
And a huge warm smile.
The looks of wonderment
At the emerging butterflies.

Holding hands, so soft and warm,
Ensuring you come to no harm.
So strong you were despite the torture,
You endured everything like no other.

The vibrant Princess, dressed in pink,
Stories of elves and fairies and Kings and Queens.
Each day you lived was a golden moment,
So much love and friendship.

There were times when tempers flared,
And often there was stubbornness, but who cared.
Through peering eyes and folded arms,
We knew you were special.

A stubborn girl

May 12, 2014

Most of us that knew Lisa well will agree she could be the most stubborn of children.  I particulalry remember he stance with crossed arms and a look over the top of her brow when she would dig her heals in and demand to have things her way!
