To the family and friends of Lonnie Atkins, I am so sorry for your loss. Dealing with a death in the family is extremely hard and difficult, but most of all it is sad. Lonnie Atkins used to be in my congregation, and from the first day that I met him, I knew that he was a pioneer. He talked about service all the time! And, even though he was sick and hurting all over, he would expend himself in Jehovah's service almost everyday. Many sisters, out of loving concern, told him to stop and to sit down before you break something! But, he wouldn't listen, as we all knew he wouldn't! He set a fine example, worthy of imitation. His determination has had an influence on me, and it is agreeable to say that he is one of the reasons why I am a pioneer today. I will dearly miss Brother Atkins, as will all of his friends and family. As you may know, Jehovah God leaves us with a beautiful hope found in the Bible. He promises a time where we can see our past loved ones again in a beautiful paradise earth (John 5:28, 29). At that time, He also promises that we all will be wiped clean of the sickness and old age we experience today (Revelation 21:3, 4). That same chapter, Revelation 21, also goes on to say, "Write, because these words are faithful and true." The words that Jehovah utters out of His mouth are true and guaranteed to be fulfilled. Brother Atkins put faith in Jehovah's words, and Jehovah will surely not let him down.
