ForeverMissed

This memorial website is being created to honor my mother Lorett Ann Kolodey Riddick. As I start writing this on Jan 12, 2012 I still am having a hard time imagining our family & the world without her. She was one of those people who was full of love for life, people, animals, flowers, music, dancing, photography, the theater, reading, cooking and caring for & entertaining friends & family.

Check out the video of her dancing with Dad to Blue Suede Shoes at our wedding! (gallery/videos)

There are so many stories to tell, so many pictures to share and I hope Lorett's dear family and friends will add their memories and photos here too.

 Farewell

Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond gilt on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand by my grave and cry... I am not there... I did not die.

Even though I never met your Mom I feel like I had in all you've written about her especially your mutual love of music and dancing. That video of her dancing with your Dad at your wedding says it all along and Whenever I Think Of You is the perfect song. Whenever you listen to music she will be right there enjoying it with you.

So sorry to learn of your mother's passing. My mother was Gay Olson and we had many good times with your parents over the years. Your parents showed me how to waltz before my wedding. She was such a sweet and loving person. Please give my love to your Dad. We are lucky to be able to remember our good times at will. She was a very special person and she will be missed. Love, Diane

I remember your mom's voice and her calming way.....even now, she is sending you love and comforting thoughts. I hope you find the photo of your mom holding the cat as this is the vibration of who she is now, pure love....

I'm so sorry Cat. I've been out of town without computer access and just found out when I logged into Facebook today. I'm glad you're getting out and listening to the music you love. You said your mother loved music, dancing and photography. I hope that whenever you're involved with any of those things you will think of her and smile. Just like the song. Be good to yourself my friend!

Dearest Cat - Thank you for letting us know your beloved mom. I know she has passed on so much of herself through you. I always feel a huge compliment when people tell me I am like my mother. And it seems that you are like your mother, too. You are a tribute to her.
All my love,
Kira

Your Mom was obviously such a very special person that many loved and respected. May your memories of her and the many special times you have all shared through the years, carry you through this time of sorrow. May your tears shed today, turn to tears of joy as time goes on and tries to heal the best it can. Her spirit will live on forever. Sincerest condolences from my family to yours.JRM

So sorry for the loss of your Mother

Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;

Mom even though our personas were very different, I know that deep down we had a very strong bond & lots of "loves" in common: animals, music, dancing, photography, plays, books. Thank you for the early dance & piano lessons. teaching me to read & all the pets you let me care for. Thank you for the family gatherings & letting me make the cookies. "You are right there when I think of you"♥

Loretta was like a second Mom for me. She made the best Thanksgiving dinner that I ever had. She had a strict code of ethics and she scolded me when I went outside without a hat in winter. She ate my bread and drank my tea and always made me feel important. I hope I can remember all the lessons she taught me.

Dear Catresea,
I am sure you are looking back , as I did when I lost my Mom, with a perspective you may never have thought you would possibly have..
the good times ..the bad times..they are all part of a much greater whole...She instilled in you all the good that you will carry on with..
