Heaven Needed A Hero
My Father was a true hero, who served in the US Army, and he fought for his country in World War II. He married my mother Helena Hunt in 1946 and gave her wonderful children, Shirley Ann Waldeck, (the late) Betty Jean Hunt, Melody Ruth Beattie, (the late) Lina Lou Hunt, Louis h Hunt Jr, Louise Marie McCuollough, Claudette Jeanne Hunt, (the late) Annette Lucille Williams, and Doreen Elaine Jean.
He worked hard and always made sure we had a home and all we needed he was a great family oriented man. In 2010 he and mom went on vacation to Maryland and while unfornately she fell and broke her hips, while in a nursing facility recovering and would not be able to travel back to RI he again figured a way to provide what was needed, My dad purchased my mother's chilhood dream to live in a mobile home, fully had it remodeled and all new furnishings.. He was the family rock and never was sick throughtout his life until October 6, 2013 when he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Since that day he never fully recovered he battled trips in and out of the hospital, but being such a strong man he was fighting to get better, and he gave it his all.
I got the chance to spend the last to go to Maryland and help with the recovering process as he was weak and needed lots of assitance and he was always pleasant never complained he was such a fighter never gave up he couldnt even walk from being in the hospital for 2 weeks without getting out of bed, He suffered 3 heart attacks from October to November 18th but being one who wanted to make his wife happy he came home on the 20th to they could celebrate their 68 year anniversary on the 23rd..
At this point he was becoming stornger although still sick he was able to be home for Thanksgiving, Christmas and The New Year, They came back to RI with me cause they needed someone with them and needed more recovering, He went back in the Hospital 2 weeks after being in RI and once again he came home to start over again on January 24th, he was doing good right up ubtil February 1st at 10;00 am he was shivering, although had no fever, and vitals were good he was rushed to the hospital and was talking to me and the hospital claimed he had a spetic UTI, then his blood pressure kept dropping so he was put in ICU to ckosely watched and given meds to help the pressure go up. After 2 hours he told me he felt like he couldnt breathe although he was not having that problem until they gave the med for the BP, he then went into cardiac arrest and was put on a respirator and was stable by 4AM. Then again code called at 6:50 and they sent me out of the room, to come out and tell me he passed away at 7:00AM. I stood with him until 7:30 just hugging him and laying on his shoulder wishing he could come back. We share so much talking during his time of illness and that is something that i will hold in my heart forever, I MISS YOU DADDY SO MUCH<
