|Let the memory of Louie, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, be with us forever|
"Happy 80th Birthday Dad!! Sorry for being a day late but I could not get into this site yesterday. Something about my password being wrong. Gotta love computers. I hope you enjoyed your day playing cards. I love you."
"Happy 80th Birthday Dad!"
"Apparently I was the only one that didn't know about this page. Decided to look you up tonight for some strange reason and found it. Reading through these messages I can't help but bawl my eyes out. I miss you so so so much. So much has happened in the last 4 years that I wish everyday you could have been here for. You would have loved Kinslee and Jace, and they would have loved you. I get married 10 months from today... I will be saving a seat for you. Don't be late LaPorto!! ;)
Love you always,
- Pa's sidekick <3"
"It's hard to believe another year has gone by without you - the past 4 years have gone by so fast. Just booked Coco Beach - one of your favorite places - for later this year. Thank you for leaving that for us. Mom's going to the casino for her birthday this year, maybe you could hang out there and make sure she has a good day - if that's allowed! Love and miss you..."
"Always and forever in my heart...happy belated birthday, even if only by a few hours. We celebrated for you at lunch with mom, although I know you are always with us."
"Happy birthday bud. Miss you!"
"Happy Birthday Dad. Christian and Hailey woke up this morning and said It's Pa's Birthday!! We all miss you very much, but know you are enjoying life in Heaven."
Sorry I missed your birthday. I was thinking of you on the day. You were the only one that ever really made me feel like I belonged and I love more than you know for that. I miss you for that too. I think of you often and hope you know that I will always hold a special place in my heart for you. Hope you celebrated in a big way up there!"
"Happy Birthday Archie!
Hope you had a great day...certainly better than being in a snow storm in CT.....have you organized the union up there yet? Be careful about getting too radical or they might send you "down" for some rehab! Ha
"Thinking about you today dad, and always… Love, Donna"
"Hi Dad.....Happy Birthday.....I hope you are enjoying your day playing cards with Uncle Rocky and giving Uncle Steven a hard time!! I love you so much!"
"Happy Birthday Pa! I love you and miss you!!"
"Happy Birthday Dad! Although we are moving on with our lives, know that you are thought of, and missed, daily. One day we will meet again…maybe spend a day at the beach, play some 3 card poker, or bake a loaf of bread (you remember that!). Knowing you are in good hands, and with lots of loved ones who have gone before, and after you, is such a comfort. Keep an eye on us, and continue to guide us with your loving hands on our shoulders. Help us to remember your words of wisdom when times get tough, crossroads are reached or decisions need to be made. Forever my "daddy"..."
"Happy birthday bud! I think about you every day. Miss you."
"Happy Birthday Dad! Hailey and Christian remembered its your birthday and that we sent balloons up to heaven for you last year. They want to do it again, so look for them tonight. Christian knew you were turning 77. He amazes me. The both talk about you all the time...you are not forgotten. I love you!"
"Pa, I found your letters you had written to me while I was in boot camp today. It was nice reading what you had to say and the words of encouragement you offered. I was able to go to Iwo Jima this past summer and brought some sand back for grandma. I know you would have loved it and probably would have had a story to tell me about it. I picked up corporal in September and now only have one more promotion until I catch you! I wish you would have gotten the chance to meet your great grandson Parker Louis LaPorto. I kept your name in there and had a son just like I promised you so that I would keet your family name going. Well I've taken up enough of your wall so I'm going to get going now. Merry Christmas Pa, love and miss you"
"Happy Valentines Birthday Dad!! We are celebrating your life tonight. Pizza and cake (and not the sugar free kind anymore...you can eat anything you want! :-) now) with the family. Then we are going to send you balloons up to heaven. Hailey and Christian are very excited to do that for you. I miss you very much. I love you."
"Daddy, Happy Birthday...It hardly seems possible that it's been almost a year since you've been gone. Your spirit and memory is still alive and here to comfort us each day. Watch for you balloons tonight as they sail to heaven to celebrate with you. I'll love and miss you always..."
"Happy Birthday Dad!!! I talk to you every morning and I know you can hear me. I also know how happy you are that we are keeping mom really, really busy. She is a trooper. :) I love you and miss you..."
"I have so many fond memories of Louie, both on a political and personal level. He had an opinion on everything! But, a couple things he used to say stayed with me to this day, which were "Never lose a friend over politics" and "Never put politics before your family." I'll always love him and miss him, he was one of a kind, and clearly loved his family and friends..."
"Louie my life long friend (the brother I never Had) you were always there for me through the good and the bad I will miss and love you always please take care of Lenny and Michael."
"Louie grew up in Hartford with my husband, Ed Kelly. He spoke of him often and I'm sure will be glad to include him now in all the card games in heaven. He has joined a childhood friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family."
"Saturday night, we're at a basketball game and someone asks "who was that big guy who bartended at the Ox Bow? I think he was a steam-fitter?" I knew right away it was Louie----that was back in late '60's and I saw him throughout the years, he was always the same great guy--a big man with a big heart. Shocked to read yesterday's obit---you'll have great memories of him.. RIP, Louie."
"Dear LaPorto family- I was so very sorry to hear of your loss.
Louie was such a great friend to my dad for so many years (since they were kids) and I know he will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Christine (Albano) Kelly"
"So sorry to read of Louie's passing, I know that he has been sick for a long time. You have a wonderful family and so lucky to have had 54 years of marriage. The photos on this memorial are so beautiful. God bless you, Cousin Anne"
"I will never forget the many many nights of card games and the fun we always had. Pa's other girl."
"How I wish we could have one more card game. I'll miss you, Louie.
From one of "Pa's girls"........."
