Lucille F. Redd

March 16, 2013

Lucille Redd, 61, of Washington, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Washington Hospital's Donnell House.

Born August 25, 1951 to John H. and the late Faye R. Redd, Lucille was a lifelong resident of Redd Run Road.

She was raised on a dairy farm, the second of five children: Linda Joyce (Higgins) of Washington, Pa., John Douglas, Barbara Kay and Richard Wade. Linda is her sole surviving sibling. After graduating from Trinity Senior High School in June 1969, Lucille spent her life working in professional roles that gave her the opportunity to serve, care for and inspire the people of Washington.

Lucille was a member of the Laboratory Presbyterian Church and the Martha Washington Garden Club. She was an avid bingo player — and frequent winner — on Friday nights at the North Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Hall.

Surviving family members include her father, her two children, Kimberly Redd-O’Brien (Patrick) of Washington, Pa. and Timothy Redd of Silver Spring, Md., sister Linda, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 E. Mainden St., Washington, Pa., on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 9 PM.

All are invited to join John, Kim and Tim on Thursday, March 21 at 1 PM for a memorial service at Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 23 Manse St., Washington, Pa. Luncheon and refreshments will be served immediately following. A toast to Lucille’s life will follow later that evening at 7:30 PM at the Kopper Kettle, Route 40, Washington, Pa.
