MAPLETON ~ Lucy Kuntz, 95, of Mapleton, passed away at 1:04 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2013 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.

Born March 27, 1918 in Orchard Mines to John and Camilla (Pasini) Pedze, she married Theodore A. Kuntz on July 13, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.  He died July 24, 2007 in Pekin.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; three sisters and one grandson.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy L. (John) Smith of Lafayette, IN; her twin sons, Dan (Deb) Kuntz of rural Brimfield and Don (Joyce) Kuntz of rural Glasford; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-granddaughter.

A homemaker, Lucy, had the gift of hospitality and was a wonderful baker.  She also enjoyed gardening.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.

Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.  Father Michael Andrejek will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.  Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
