April 17th, 1952
Lynda is born and officially named Linda Francis McKay. Her parents William and Elizabeth or "Bill and Betty", introduce their freckled, first girl to her amazing brothers, Bill Jr. and David. 11 years later her sister Maryann would come along and despite their age difference they would become the best of friends.
1968
At Marion Highschool, demure, but gorgeous Lynnie is spotted on the bus by the B.M.O.C., Walt Vital. He asked her out on their first date and history was made.
June 16th 1973
200 people gathered at Nana McKay's house on River Road to watch the kids get hitched and start their amazing journey together!
She was 21 and Dad was a baby, only 20 years old!
What a long, strange trip it would be!
May 16th 1980
1st baby born in the tundra of Buffalo, New York. After practicing with their beloved pet squirrel monkey Chuck they decided to have a real baby.
Pat would eventually provide Mom with the perfect excuse to stop working forever.
January 25th 1983
In the New York parking lot known as New Jersey they had their first baby girl.
Walt was such a great help during the delivery of their first child that Mom decided to go it alone and leave him at home with Patrick.
Lyn watched the birth of Pebbles Flinstone while giving birth to her own daughter. One child was the daughter of a hard-working caveman, the other was a cartoon character.
August 1, 1985
Born in Framingham, MA, Lyn was so proud to welcome her 3rd and final baby to her brood.
From day one Lyn always knew that Steve would grow up to be either a rocket scientist or a mass murderer. Time has yet to tell.
1993
Cabal is born-Finally the perfect child!
Lyn gets her first dog for the family in Ponte Vedra, Fa. Cabal, the basenji, would be the beginning to her unbelievable relationship with animals.
Lynda made a loving home and was a nurturing mother to Nadia, Simon, Kenya, Troy, Stimpy, Jasmine, Malena, Frida, Frankie, Marlo, Mango, Lucy, Blondie, Bandy, Alexander the Great, Ivan the Terrible, Ezmerellda, Rex, Lex, Amber, Frankie, Charlie, Mel, Sweety the squirrels, bunnies, birds, raccoons, foxes, geese and deer in her yards and all the horses at the barn.
The Schwartz's introduce the Vital Family to Las Vegas as Pat and Crystal tie the knot at The Flamingo hotel.
Finally a responsible adult joins the clan.
October 20, 2009
Lyn is gifted with her first grandchild, Xavier Vincent Vital-Schwartz, and he became the brightest light for her after her diagnosis.
Xavier would also inspire Lyn to actually frame people in picture frames and not just animals!
July 2010
After over 30 years of a nomadic, corporate lifestyle, Lyn and Walt finally return to the ocean and buy a beautiful home in Virginia Beach.
December 13th 2011
Three years ago, Lynda was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a courageous battle Lynda is finally at peace. Throughout her illness she insisted on not being a burden to anyone and kept her spirits high. She never complained and her appreciation of life was never diminished. Until the end, Lynda reassured her family that she was happy. In Lynda's words, "She Crossed the Rainbow Bridge" on a beautiful, sunny afternoon with Walt by her side.
