Mrs. Mable Ruth Ivey was born July 8, 1946 to the late Tommie Lee McClaney and the late Orie Lee McClaney. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church, High Ridge Community.

Mrs. Ivey graduated from Perote High School, Perote, AL. For many years, she was employed at the Welsh Company in Union Springs, AL. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Oscar Depriest Ivey, Sr.

On March 20, 2015, God called an Angel home to eternal rest.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Oscar Depriest Ivey, Sr.; three brothers, Willie James McClaney, Thomas McClaney and Tommie McClaney and one niece, Cynthia Carlton.

Mrs. Ivey leaves to cherish her memories, two loving daughters, Baretta D. Ivey, Montgomery, AL and Stephanie T. Ivey, Union Springs, AL; one loving son, Depriest (Harriet) Ivey, Jr., Margate, FL; one loving God-daughter, Mary A. Anderson, Selma, AL; six grandchildren, Depriest Ivey III, Odenton, MD; Brittany Daniels, North Lauderdale, FL, Tavon Ivey, DeLand, FL, Yannique Ivey, Kamilah Ivey, both of Margate, FL and Kevin Da’Shun Keith, Union Springs, AL; five sisters, Verna Goshea, Union Springs, AL, Betty McClaney, Fayetteville, GA, Rosie McClaney, Columbus, GA, Priscilla (Earl) Goshea, Carlisle, PA and Barbara (Raymond) Carter, Oklahoma, OK; four brothers, Joe (Julia) McClaney, Bear, DE, Albert McClaney, Jamaica, NY, John McClaney, Blounts Creek, NC and Bernard (Blanch) Johnson, Summersville, SC; one aunt, Lois Kiser, Mt. Meigs, AL; three uncles, Paris Elder, Alabama, Ivie Elder, Columbus, GA and Ben Elder, Florida; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one special niece, Venesia McClaney; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
