Madeline was truly the big sister.  She would use glue and twine straw like rope to repair my doll's broken head and then she'd unravel the twine and glue it  a few strains at a time on the head of "Maryanne"then she'd wet the "hair" and roll it up, when it dried she would style it.
Mat was always creative, using what was handy, like cut up  socks, rags and paper to make doll clothes.  She even made saltine cracker balls using crushed up saltine and water to make a small ball, then baked them on the radiator .  Joe and ate them.  We thought they were good then...  Ha ha.
