Entertainment: Travel and movies

Manabendra Adhikary loved to travel and experience variety of  cuisines and culture. In Sept 2011, he visited Phuket, Patong Bay, Thailand and spend time with his son at Club Bamboo, Spa resort. In Dec 2012, he visited Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ranthambore and spent time wih son, future daughter-in law and her parents. In Dec 2013, he visted Mumbai to attend his son's wedding.

In Dec 2014, he moved to Philadelphia to be with his son and family, for the future. While in the Philadelphia suburbs, he used to enjoy goin to the mall to get chinese massages. His favorite comfort food was south Indian Vada, idli and sambar.

The two movies that caught his attention the most were : Piku and Byomkesh Bakshi. He was thoroughly entertained by both movies. He spoke highly of the direction, cast and cinematography.

Manabendra Adhikary absolutely loved anything and everything to do with bengalee culture. He visited Houston in July of 2015 to attend the North American Bengalee conference.

Over the three days at the conference, he enjoyed listening to numerous musical performances spanning bauool follk, rabindra snageet, nazrul geeti and adhunik gaan.

He spent a lot of time at the photo exhibition organized by Vishwa Bharati, Shanti Niketan celebrating the life and literary work of Rabindranath Tagore.

He particularly loved watching a dance choreography presented by the Ananda Shankar troupe. 

Besides bengalee culture, he also enjoyed watching Kathak, Bharatnatyam, kuchipudi and Katkali performances in Philadelphia

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL YET UNPREDICTABLE. LIFE IS A BLESSING YET ITS FINITE.

BABA/ BHALODA/ BHALOPISHEN/GETHU/SIR/ DADA.....HE WAS REVERED BY EVERYONE AND REFERRED TO BY SO MANY DIFFFERENT NAMES.

DR. MANABENDRA ADHIKARY WAS A SELF MADE MAN, A SCHOLAR, A TEACHER, A GURU. A KIND, SELFLESS, FAIR AND HONORABLE HUMAN BEING.  
HE LOVED TO TRAVEL AND HAD A GREAT REGARD FOR CULTURE.

ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT WERE IN HIS LIFE, HAVE BEEN DEEPLY TOUCHED BY THIS AMAZING SOUL. HE SPENT THE FINAL 300 DAYS OF HIS LIFE WITH HIS SON IN PHILADELPHIA. HIS SON WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL TO HIM.
