Passed away on October 4, 2015. At home in Collinsville Illinois sorrounded by his family and close friends.

Surviving are his Wife of 34 years Sandra Dodson, five children Sondra (don) Buneta Of collinsville,illinois. Robert (Sarah) Kries of Carbondale illinois. Marc (laura) Dodson Jr. of Graite city, Illinois. Steven (Tiffany) Dodson of Caseyville illinois. Michelle (Brian) Dodson of Collinsville illinois. Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also had many adoptive grandchildren.

There will be no funral service as his last wish was to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends to share stories and photos of the greatest man that has ever lived.

You know words are never enough in times of loss, but they do have the ability to bring comfort in times of loss. My uncle was a man who would do anything for you. He was a hard worker, a jack of all trades kind of guy. I have many fond memories of him when I was younger, he and my dad would really cut up and always had a picking word for you. They loved to have fun at your expense and wouldn't hold back any punches. Uncle Marc was always a guy who had fun with others around him. When I visited him in the hospital a couple weeks before his passing he was no different, fortunately it was the nurses he was giving a hard time and not me. He was true to his colors until the day he died and he will be forever missed by those who were closest. Blessings to you all as you mourn the loss of a great great man. Rest in peace Uncle Marc.

Arianna & I miss you grandpa! its just not the same without you around! We all miss your crazy (perverted) jokes and your laughter! yesterday Iwas cooking up hamburger meat and jUST waited to see if you'd come in and take a huge hunk of raw meat off the stove and eat it like you always did but you didn't and I almost wanted to cry! its just not the same without you!
