Funeral services for Mr. Marcus R. Cumberlander, 29, of Phenix City, AL will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 12:00 (Noon), EST at the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with the Rev. Noble Williams, officiating. Interment will be held in Lakeview Memorial Garden. Mr. Cumberlander passed on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.
Marcus was a member of the 2000 graduating class of Central High School, Phenix City, AL. He attended Alabama A& M University, Huntsville, AL and graduated from DeVry Institute in Decatur, GA with an Associate Degree in Computer Technology.
Mr. Cumberlander was a member of the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Corliss Gail (Emory) Cumberlander, his maternal grandparents, Ulus (Sr.) and Lillie Lee Smith Cumberlander and his paternal grandparents, Zach and Jurushia Emory.
He is survived by: a loving and caring daughter, Kamryn Nicole Cumberlander, Phenix City, AL; his loving and devoted father, Mario”Randy” Cumberlander, Phenix City, AL; aunts and uncles, Theresa (Wendell) Price, Phenix City, AL; Waymon (Carolyn) Cumberlander, Ulus Cumberlander, Jr., Janice Cumberlander, and Olita Shvelle Cumberlander, Lanett, AL; Shirley ( Calvin) Cox, LaGrange, GA; Wendell Emory, Columbus, GA; great aunts and uncle, Willie Mae Strozier and Bernice Cumberlander, Columbus, OH; Bessie Smith, Wadley, AL ; Princella Smith, Detroit, MI; Nathaniel (Rudine) Smith, Lanett, AL and Rudine Phillips of Nashville TN, and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
