Thank you all for attending the funeral of our mom, Margaret Ann Dupree on the 25th of February.  We had a great turnout on a very beautiful spring like day.  Mom is now at Willamette National Cemetery with Dad.    Donations can still be made to St. Vincent de Paul, care of Ascension Catholic Church in moms name in leu of gifts or flowers.   Please mourn her death, but celebrate her life with us by leaving your thoughts, prayers and stories of her life for all to see.  We will all miss her dearly.

It is hard to believe a year has passed since I lost my mom. Time and stuff get in our ways, but I know this day will be hard to miss for the rest of my life. I really miss my mom and hope she has found peace.

We the Family of Margaret Ann would like to thank all that came to her funeral. Some from here in Portland as well as all that traveled to say "good-bye". We thank you for the warm thoughts, loving words as well as the cards left as a tribute. There were some that were not able to come- but, thoughts of Mom, were there. Moms health diminished and not all knew. She was very well cared for, loved and happy until the end. Getting her nails done - just as she loved. She would have loved seeing everyone come together..for her.. Thank you all again, Kimy, Davin and Devin Tester....

Dear family of Margaret,
My husband Mike was a classmate of Margaret's and I graduated two years behind so I was aware of her in high school, but more so in our conversations at the Class of 63's reunions. She was an uncommonly warm and engaging person so I walked away from our time together feeling as if I'd known her for years.

Mike especially admired Margaret because she was an authentic person. It was many years after high school that he realized how challenged she was by her family's poverty and that gave him a whole new understanding of what she overcame. The sheer force of her personality opened doors that would ordinarily have been closed.

We send our sympathy to you in your loss, fully realizing we have learned from her wish that memorials go to those less fortunate. We continue inspired by her example and treasure her memory.

Mom, I am so glad you are at peace. Hope you have found the family and friends you have missed, and have missed you as well. You are probably tending the flower garden- keeping the blooms beautiful. Give and get a huge hug from Dad- it's been a long time. You are in good hands! Love you, you'll be missed. Love, Kimy

Margaret Ann you are going to be missed by so many, you had a heart of gold! I'm so glad Sonny and I were able to come out to Portland to see you last spring. It was a great week, we did nothing special as we told you we just wanted to stay with you at home and visit. Didn't want to wear you out, and the just visiting was the best part of the whole trip. I'm sure you are having fun in heaven visiting with all those who left before you, I'm sure you have plenty to tell each one of them!  We will miss you so much! And we love you so so much!
