Margaret M. Cooper, 85, a resident of 707 Lake Road passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Oscar G. and Libby Yarboro Clayton, the wife of John M. Cooper, a member of Landmark Baptist Church and retired after many years of service with the Creedmoor Post Office. She was a world traveler and her love for dancing brought her to her recent husband. Margaret was a basketball player for her Stem High School girl’s team, a member of the G – G’s and was their leader, an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed planning and participating with her church in Christian tours. She was loved and will be missed by many family members, friends and her church family.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Landmark Baptist Church, 3149 Walters Road, Creedmoor North Carolina 27522 by Pastor Craig Currin. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving is her husband of 10 years, John M. Cooper of the home, a daughter, Susan M. Hockaday (David), two granddaughters, Tracy H. Aiken (Brandon), Teri H. Brooks (Brent), two great granddaughters, Kaylee Aiken and Madyson Brooks, all of Creedmoor, a brother, John C. Clayton of Durham, a step daughter, Debbie, a step son John (Janelle) step grandsons Jonathan, Jared, Joseph, Matthew (Megan), a step granddaughter, Katlyn. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Howard J., Willie G., Ernest G., Rueben T., Edward L. Clayton and her husband, Earl B. Moss.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and other times at 707 Lake Road, Creedmoor, North Carolina.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials in Margaret’s honor to Landmark Baptist Church, 3149 Walters Road, Creedmoor, North Carolina 27522.
