Mrs. Margaret Tomlin Hadaway, 89 year old resident of Lanett, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Mrs. Hadaway was born, Tuesday, March 21, 1922, in Clay County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Morgan and Annie Rae Hadaway.

She was a graduate of Clay County High and Massey Draughen Business College. Mrs. Hadaway had lived in Lanett for 55 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lanett and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. She was devoted to her family.

Mrs. Hadaway was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur Hadaway of Lanett; her daughters and their husbands, Betty and James Moore of LaGrange, Georgia and Neva and Ben Moore of Dozier, Alabama; her son and his wife, David and Gina Hadaway of Valley; six grandchildren, Laura Moore, Carla Fikes, Leslie Jones, Allison Hofammann, Kendall Moore, and Ashley Stealey; three great grandchildren, Jackson Fikes, Hudson Fikes and Wyatt Jones; and her sister, Sara Burkhead of Pensacola, Florida.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hadaway will be held, Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 11:00 AM EDT from the First Baptist Church of Lanett. Reverend Gene Webb will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Lanett. The family will greet friend Friday evening, July 1, 2011, from 6:00 PM EDT until 8:00 PM EDT at McCarthy Funeral Home.
