Mrs. Stewart was born in Hogansville, Georgia on September 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Esther Mae Shirey Cassel and Roy Cassel. She was retired from the United States Department of Revenue where she served as an auditor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Centralhatchee. Even though she and her husband never had any children of their own they loved all of their nieces and nephews. After the death of her beloved husband John Clifton “J. C.” Stewart, Mrs. Marguerite and her sister Maxine joined their households and were much company to each other in their latter years. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sisters, Maelene Powell (Robert) of Kennesaw, GA., and Maxine Cassel of Roopville, GA.; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. C. Stewart; parents, Esther and Roy Cassel; and brother, Travis Cassel.
