Her Life

In Memory

May 12, 2012

Marialla, a young prodigy and native of Tallahassee, FL, graduated from Leon High School at the age of 15 and attended both the University of Florida and the University of Chicago for her undergraduate program in English and Pre-Law.  Following her studies at the U of C, she continued to reside in Chicago, the city she adored, for the remainder of her life.   Marialla was a lifelong learner, with a deep passion for the arts.  The world became her classroom.   It was through her travels that she was most stimulated and she expressed herself through multiple art and media forms.  She learned to speak French, German, Italian, and Korean and enjoyed photography, music and cooking.  Her honors in high school included Who's Who Among American High School Students, a member of the French Honor Society, the Drama Club, the Governor’s Honors Program, the Physics Honors Award, a National Merit Finalist, National Achievement Finalist and Scholarship recipient, and German Language Award (Univ of FL).  Marialla had an innate empathy for the poor and homeless, and was always willing to share her time, talent, and resources with others.

Marialla Magloire died from an unfortunate illness at the age of 28 in May 2011 and while she was unable to have longevity in her life of service, the memory of her desire to help others is now carried forward in the mission of the Foundation.established in her memory. www.mariallamagloirefoundation.org
