Alway giving

July 26, 2012

I remember one day being in the back break room; Mark came in on his day off.  He had a box delivered to the work place.  It was a coat rack to be used by the employees. He felt we needed somewhere to hang our coats etc...  Mark took his time and put it together. Thank you Mark for all your acts of kindness.

And if you wanted to know how to use your benefit plan without a lot of out of pocket expense just ask Mark he had researched everything. Medical and Dental.

He was excited about his new  cell phone; he said his phone did everything.

Last but not all; at lunch he explained how to fix some good beans without spending a lot of money.  He was always talking about ways to cook food without spend alot on it.

Gone but not forgotten!!!!!!!

Mark always did the best impressions of family members. They were never unkind, or mean spirited. They were always funny and true to life.

WELCOME BACK

July 25, 2012

I worked with Mark for 3 yrs and then left. When i came back I was just so thrilled to see my old buddies. One day on  my first week, Mark bought a chocolate cake and a chocolate ice cream to welcome me back. I surely felt so welcome and so special that day.
We used to share stories about our elderly parents. My Mom is 90 y.o. and my Dad was 85 then. He mentioned how one day he knew he will end up going home to take care both of you. That's how i knew that he was a special, special person. Mr.& Mrs. Schloeder, you raised a wonderful son, compassionate, a hard worker and easy to work with. We will surely miss his laughter and I know one day I will see him again. He will always be in my prayers. WE MISS YOU MARK !!!!!!!!

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

July 25, 2012

We will always miss you Mark. Everyone has a story to tell about you and how nice and sweet you were. We all have a piece of you in our hearts. Thanks for sharing and not keeping it all to yourself for we all know you were not selfish. You constantly fed us. Especially when you were on your health role you fed us cake and ice cream mmm mmm mmm. O how we will miss our cake and ice cream. Were all here and asking GOD to give us all strength as we grieve of you being gone but you will never never be forgotten. Its kind a like sitting around the camp fire holding hands telling all the Mark stories and we cry we laugh we cry and then we laugh. Oh Mark  your gone but sometimes it just doesn't seem real. May your soul rest in peace with your creator who create a beautiful and loving person that we all got to know very well.

Love Always

Lunch with Mark – In color…

July 25, 2012

At work, Mark enjoyed taking his lunch break everyday from about  1:00-1:30, he either used his green park plaza lunch bag or recently had started using his texas longhorn lunch bag. He would set up his very healthy meal, and would allow himself to unwind for a few moments by watching TV. We all knew Mark was on his lunch break, because you could hear his laughter all the way down both hallways.

These last few months, Mark had found a new houston tv station during his lunch break, it is called "ME tv" and had episodes of  all these old shows like Hazel, Dennis the Menance, Father knows Best, old westerns,etc....One day as Mark and I shared our lunch time together, we both commented how strange it was to see the shows in color, as we both grew up with black and white tv in our homes.

Mark continued to share his story that as a young boy, he grew up rushing home from school to see Batman,....but now its in color, he indicated with laughter..." Batman, can you believe the colors on the Batman show from the 70's ... I get to see all the episodes in color...its great!  I grew up watching Batman as a kid and now I'm grown man and I get to watch Batman in a whole new way,… in color!" Isn't it great!

Mark was young at heart and the simple things in life made him happy, watching Batman in color, made him happy, and you could not help but laugh and share his happiness, it washed over you like a cool breeze. I miss you Mark, and every time I see "your lunch table" I will have fond memories of you, and remember to enjoy all of our happy memories… in color….Love You, Diana.

July 25, 2012

i remember he came in on his day off to bring us a big fruit platter. we all told him how nice he was and how sweet it was for him to have done this for us. Laughing with his big loud laugh, he said that he had just came back from confession and the priest, as penance, told him to do an act of kindness. so he went to the grocery store and saw this fruit platter on sale and thought, thats gonna be my act of kindness! he said his act of kindness was to feed the starving nurses and it was cheap!!!

Threading the Needle

July 25, 2012

He told me a story of how he use to thread his mother's needle. He seemed to really have enjoyed it. I could tell by the way he would laugh.
