Martha Ree Hutchins-Lakes was born January 17, 1917 to the late Tip Leroy and Allie M. Hutchins.

God blessed her with a long life of 99 1/2 years. She departed this life May 23, 2016.

She was the second of ten children. She and her eldest brother Clarence (deceased) joined St. Paul CME Church at a young age. She later joined Hills Chapel United Methodist Church and served faithfully. She recently reunited with St. Paul CME Church, the church of her parents and her childhood.

In 1943 she united in holy matrimony for forty-five years to the late Bennie
Lakes. To this union five children were born; WC Lakes, JoAnn Hawkins
(Richard-deceased), Edward Lakes (Mildred), Tip Lakes (Ida), and Harold
Lakes (Josephine-deceased). She has three older children, Clifford (deceased), Mary Culberson and Thomas. She has three sisters, Mary Jane Woods, Eloise McLaughlin, Cora Glenn; one brother, Jonathan Hutchins; one brother-in-law, JC McLaughlin.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her children; twenty grandchildren; thirty one
great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; a host of nieces,
nephews, and friends; a special niece and nephew, Gladys and Jerry Towns.
