Dad -

I think of you often and miss you everyday. There are so many things to tell you, both large and small, and I hope that in some way, one day, I can.

You taught me how to laugh, reach for the stars, and also be a pain in the ass when it counts.

Oh, and spring rolls are best served well done, which is just a fact.

Thinking of you today, on your 87th birthday.
What made you great were the simple acts of kindness you showed me throughout my life.
The cards, the articles (including when you circled a picture of a monkey and said it resembled you), the ceaseless encouragements and compliments, and your awe and amazement at everything I achieved.
You weren't perfect, and at times you were more absent than I wanted you to be. As a child, it angered me that you and Mom weren't able to stay together - but as I grew older, I realized that you did the right thing for all of us.
I miss your kindness, your encouragement, and your imperfections. I miss your sardonic humor and wise cracks. You were one of a kind - and will forever remain so in my heart.

I don't think 9/9 will ever be the same without Marty Milrad around. I am fortunate to share the same birthday with such a good and funny person. I hope the tofu is extra soft today Dad. If not, send it back!

Dear Marty,
We were married in 1975 and divorced in 1992,
We have two incredible sons Shawn Mitchell Milrad and Jared Perry Milrad.
Marty was my beloved friend until the day he died.
While we couldn't make our marriage work forever we loved each other.
He was a sweet man.
Yes, of course he had his flaws who doesn't but he was caring, loving and kind always.
I think of him every day.
Looking at my two sons I see so much of Marty in them.
Life is short so they say but Marty if was a lovely moment when we fell in love.
I am grateful for that.
Bless you Dear Marty and now you are at rest.
