This memorial website was created in memory of our Mom. We miss her terribly and will remember her forever. We were all blessed to be able to move to Roseburg, Oregon this year and to live together and not too far from our Dad and our step-Mom. It allowed us all to get closer as a family. Jay and Teresa
From our Dad:
Mary Ann and I met while in college in Laramie, Wyoming in the early 1950’s and were married a couple of years later. She was finishing work on a degree in education. In fact, she taught a year of high school business before we moved to CA in 1957.
Her life in CA was full time homemaker and then mother. Her life revolved around raising a family, knitting, sewing, refinishing and recovering furniture, and yard work, always with perfection.
When Jay and Teresa were older, she took a job with an accounting firm. She advanced to a position of leadership, in processing data for four different unions.
Luckily she and I had a recent conversation and I was happy to agree that she accomplished the major role of raising our two children.
Mary Ann’s father had major health problems and Mary Ann inherited at least one of those.
In the end, we have to recognize that she knew Jesus for a good many years and that is a good way to go. Jim Downey

I am trying to continue your genealogy work. You worked on it for so many years and did it when all the data was manually searched for. It was a labor of love, for sure.
Love, Terri

Mom's birthday...
Jay and I remember her always but it was most apparent on Mother's Day last weekend and her birthday today.... We miss her all the time. Jay and I talk about her a lot. Cody misses her. A couple weeks ago I found the ball she used to throw for him. He smelled it and smelled it and made noises and got so excited. He remembered the good times they had when she threw the ball for him for all those years in their home in San Jose. So now I throw the ball for him. I know it isn't the same as when his "mommy" did it....
I have to believe she is happier now and that she can see all the beauty around her. I pray she is with those she loved that passed before her.

I am from the McClure family, and was glad to connect with Mary Ann. We shared a love of tracing our elusive ancestors. She was very generous to have shared her McClure research with me, and I will always remember her, and my great Aunt Mary Downey and Great Uncle Alan Downey. My parents were from Pierce Colorado. With sympathy and with love. Annette Sitton
