Mary Jean Broaden was born on March 1, 1946 to the late Sandy Rodgers and Ruth Peterson. She resided in Union Springs, AL for forty-six years. Converted at an early age, her membership at Mount Hillard Baptist Church was near and dear to her heart. 

Her husband, William Broaden, Jr., to whom she was married to for forty-two years, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters, Annie R. Florence, Destin, FL and Shirley (Jeffrey) Dixon, Troy, AL - with whom she lived; two brothers, Billy M. Rogers, Montgomery, AL and Lawrence Peterson, Quincy, FL; one aunt, Iona (John) Walton, Montgomery, AL; one uncle, Charles Faniel, Tacoma, WA; a host of nieces, nephews, and family members including her extended family, Phyliss Leverette, Patricia Thomas, Barbara Finn, Mary Maynor and Mary Helen Maynor; friends including her special friends, Roseanne Walker, Roberta King, Gaynelle Montoya, Dorothy Shelton and Uncle Robert.
