|In Mary's Marchers' words: Wife to 1, Mother to 4, Nene to 7, Inspiration to All!|
Mary Webber (née Pfundstein) of Bonita Springs passed on to the Lord on Aug. 28, 2013 after a long battle with breast cancer.
For many years she was a resident of Stamford, CT, moving full-time to Bonita in 2005.
Born in Chicago in 1944, her family relocated to Lake Worth, Florida in 1949. A brilliant student and leader, she was valedictorian and student body president of Rosarian Academy in West Palm Beach. She attended Trinity College in Washington, D.C. for two years before completing her bachelor’s degree with honors at Old Dominion College in Norfolk, Va. in 1966. For seven years thereafter she ascended the management ladder at AT&T Long Lines in New York.
Her legendary organizational skills and boundless good humor were subsequently put to imaginative use in mothering a single child and, 22 months later, triplets. Needing more of a challenge, she not only started her own bookkeeping business, but volunteered numerous hours to a variety of boards and organizations, including hospitals in Stamford, CT and Naples, FL (NCH). She was a faithful parishioner of St. Leo the Great Church in Bonita, as well as a member of Newcomers Club, Encore and two needlepoint groups, all of which gave her immense joy.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Webber, M.D., four children: John (Tricia), Katherine, Matthew (Briana), and Diana Giorlando (Charlie), and seven grandchildren: Jack, Ben, Luke, Anika, Hayden, Sabina, and Lilla.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 1st from 4-6 PM ET at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home (28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs, FL 34134).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Monday September 2nd at 10 AM ET at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church (28290 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34134).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant House, 427 W. 52nd St. New York, NY 10019 or covenanthouse.org/Donate.

Thinking of you and your lovely family on this very sad day. I know This first anniversary pulls the scab off the wound. You so want to remember every detail about Mary and yet that triggers off a deep yearning for something you can no longer have. It has helped me to know that all the things that I loved about Steve, I love still. I am grateful for every moment with him. I know you feel the same about Mary. Their love and their continued effect on our hearts and minds are present with us. Now. Today. Tomorrow. That gift is forever.
"Dear Tom, thinking of you today and of the wonderful lunch Joe and I enjoyed at your home with you and your wonderful Mary. She was warm and welcoming even with her illness, a classy lady! It's now 2 years for me and I still miss him terribly, but he's there in my children and grandchildren and my memories. I'm sure you feel the same about Mary after one year. Love, Vivian"

"Although I met Mary only a few times she made a lasting impression because the strength and quality of her character was so apparent. She just seemed to "have it all together" - a fully realized person. I know she will be terribly missed by all who loved her; but, perhaps, her example of living life fully will help sustain those who grieve today until a happier time."
"We have been friends for such a short time but so enjoyed the time that He gave us together. Mary, I will miss our chats on the way to mass & your companionship, but I will know that you are still with me in spirit. And Tom.....we trust our friendship will continue to grow throughout the years to come & look forward to sharing pizza and politics with you this winter. Denise & Scott"
"Tom and family, So sad to hear of Mary transferring from the Webber 'Earth' team to the 'Heaven' team. She fought the transfer well but, was 'needed' upstairs. "Hi John, Matt, & families... So sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. I will always remember her chauffeuring John & I up to BC for the swim team training trip in late 1991. "I first knew of Mary from the portrait "Mom at 21" atop Tom's desk in his room at Columbia. She was prominently featured in his conversations; I gathered that she was intelligent, self-confident, but not self-centered. The bond they shared was palpable even then. Finally meeting her in person, I discovered she was friendly and funny. A joy to be with from Doc Severinsen to Victoria BC."
"Mary and Tom and their young family were our neighbours during our two years stay in Stamford in 1984.They warmly welcomed our four children and us. "Mary really taught me that we are measured by the "effort of giving." It is a skill that many of us have to practice, and practice again. For her, giving was effortless. She was a leader and a teacher for me in that regard. She showed me what "strength of character" means and I am a better person and a better doctor because of her. I will miss her. - andy lipman"
