I treasure my friendship with Mary. A conversation with her was always so interesting, and I never failed to learn something from our chats. Years ago, as I was preparing to visit London with friends, Mary called to see if she could come over and bring me some books about London that she wanted me to read before I left. She also wanted to give me some ideas for what to see and do there, and we spent a few hours in my living room reminiscing about her own experiences in London with her family and talking about what I should absolutely not miss on my first trip there. She was so excited for me....and after our conversation, I was even more excited about my impending adventure. As I toured London months later, I thought of Mary every day, because I gleaned so much more from my experience because of her tutelage. Things that I am sure I would have missed noticing...I now looked for, and my experience as a tourist was ever so much more enlightening. I am so thankful that the Fergusons came back to Woodward. Our entire community was blessed by their love of learning amd their committment to education. I have so many wonderful memories of Mead and Mary. Rest in peace, my friends.
