Mary Gean Pegors (1929-2016)

April 20, 2016

Mary Gean Pegors was born March 25, 1929 to Harvey and Ethel Evans in South Minneapolis. She was the oldest of six children.  She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of thirteen and was active in her church, Oliver Presbyterian and in the Minneapolis High School Christian Fellowship Clubs.  She graduated from South High and then completed her nurses training at Hamline University in 1951.

Paul and Mary met in the Minneapolis High School Christian Fellowship Clubs and were married in 1951.  They were married almost 65 years ago and had four children: Timothy, Susan, Barbara and Mark.  They spent 39 years in Pakistan where Mary was not only a great wife and mother but a wonderful friend, a school nurse at Murree Christian School and Karachi American School, a house parent at MCS, the administrator of Shikarpur Christian Hospital, field treasurer and a host of other jobs all of which she did with enthusiasm and great skill.  After retirement Mary and Paul served together at Bibles for Missions Thrift Center for almost 20 years. They also did a 6 month missions term helping in London.  She was involved in many ways in their local church, Oak Grove Church, Golden Valley, MN.

Mary loved and served the Lord Jesus throughout her life demonstrating to and sharing with others His grace.  She was famous for her welcoming spirit and generous hospitality.  She loved to sing and her beautiful voice lifted all of our hearts.  We will miss her but know she is now with Jesus.
