Her Life

Mary joined St. Paul C.M.E. Church at an early age.  She attended Sunday School and sang in the choir.

Mary was educated in the Meriwether County School System.  She graduated from Greenville High School in 1957.  In her adult life, she moved to the Grantville community with her husband.  There she opened her home and heart to her community.  She loved to cook and share with family, friends, and her community.  Mary loved her family and community, but most of all, Mary loved the Lord.  She opened her home throughout the years for Bible Study.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Stanton Miller “Pan”; her son, Stanton Miller, Jr. “Stan”; her granddaughter, Makayla Cheaves; four sisters, Estella Rosser, Margaret Blalock, Pearl Tenney and Josephine Rosser, and four brothers; Norman, Willie Clarence “Buster”, John Henry “Jr.”, and Thomas Sewell.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories four daughters; Cheryl Pickard, Andrea “Dap” Sewell, Connie (Ronald) Ball, and Micki Miller; one son, John Paul (Kay); two stepchildren, Shirley (Charles) Montgomery and Tim McCambry; 13 grandchildren; Steven “Lee” Pickard,Jr., Stanfred and Bryant Philpot, Christopher and Symone Ball, John, Paul, Raven and Robin Sewell, Jada and Ariell Reese, and Nikki and Lisa Montgomery; 2 great grandchildren, Marlisa and Montel Montgomery; one sister, Ella Ruth Hardaway; two sister-in-law, Rosa Mae Sewell and Lillian Hicks Miller,; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends; Willie Ruth Render, Jannett Bohannon Gillian, and Donna Thompson.
