Susan's Biography

March 25, 2018

Mary was born in 1952. She was the daughter of Bud Pearce and Quinnie McReynolds.

Mary Susan Miller’s biological name at birth was Mary Souson Pearce, named after her paternal Great Grandmother Mary Ann Hays Pearce according to the family bible that is my possession. She was born on March 16, 1952, at Fresno General Hospital, Fresno, California to the parents of Warren G. Pearce and Quinnie McReynolds Pearce who were her biological parents. She was the youngest of nine siblings.

Susan’s biological mother passed away January 08, 1956 after battling cancer for several years. Her biological father Warren G. Pearce was incapable of caring for the children, so Susan and seven of her siblings were placed in foster homes. Susan and the next youngest sibling Berta were placed in the foster care of Melvin and Marie Hickey, whom later adopted the two and changed their birth names and were issued new birth certificates after the adoption.

Susan didn’t see her biological siblings much until she was grown. Susan spent her childhood living in Dinuba, California attending Elementary and High School. She was a very loving child and loved attending church with the family.

In 1970 at the age of eighteen, she married Dale Ferguson and their union brought them two Sons, Tim and Lenny. They continued to live in the Dinuba area until their divorce in July 1974. Susan adored her children and the two would be the only children that would be birthed by Susan. She later would have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A year after her divorce she met Harold Eugene (Gene) Jones, who had three children himself. They were married October 11, 1975. Gene worked as a truck driver and Susan worked at a small photo booth that distributed photos to customers. Her and Gene divorced September 20, 1982, in Fresno, California.

She remarried one more time to Stan Miller; I have not found any documentation on him but will continue to look. I know she separated from him and moved to her parent’s home in Dinuba, California.

She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a convalescent home until she had health issues to where she could not work anymore. At the time of her death, she was living in an apartment in Visalia, California with her dog “Caraline” that she adored. She suffered a stroke at home and later taken to a hospital in Modesto, California where she passed away.

She was laid to rest at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba, California. Her adopted parents and her biological mother also lay at rest at Smith Mountain Cemetery.

Susan was my biological “Baby Sister” and I have so much love for her.
