Maude Josephine Goss Stephens, 75, a longtime resident of Creedmoor passed away, Sunday, October 27th, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Aubrey Kitchen and Vida Mae Goss. She was a member of Living Word Baptist Church and a retired employee of Northern Telecom. She was a very loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a hard working woman who never stopped. Josephine will be missed by many that she touched with her presence. She is gone from our sight but will always be in our hearts. Till we meet again in the sweet by and bye.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 30th, 2013 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor by the Rev. Wesley Holder. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Lester C. Stephens of the home, two daughters; Denise Stephens Cooper of Creedmoor and Betty Stephens Trautman of Stem; two sons, Barry G. Stephens and Archie C. Stephens both of Creedmoor; two sisters, Louise G. Hines of Henderson and Lurline G. King of Creedmoor; two brothers, Aubrey Goss of Oxford, Billy Goss of Creedmoor and three grandchildren, Kacie Stephens, Kaitlyn Stephens and Emily Cooper and one great granddaughter, Aubrie Bryson. She was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Stephens, and her brother Herbert “Coconut” Goss.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor from 6:30 – 8:30 PM and at others time at the home.
