May 24, 2015

Mr. Doler was born in Alabama on October 17, 1939, and was the adopted son of the late Ina Edna Duke Rossamond and James Riley Rossamond. He was a Christian by faith. In his early years he held positions at the, Lanett and LaFayette, Alabama Police Departments. The experience he acquired during these posts enabled him the knowledge required to become the Ephesus Georgia Police Chief. He was also one of the founding members of the Heard County Volunteer Fire Department. In his later years he worked for L. L. Rogers and Son. He was known for his tireless work ethic, and dedication to the people in Ephesus, Georgia. No matter how menial the task if a friend was in need, Mr. Maynard was willing to fill the spot. There was never much time for recreation, but when given the opportunity he loved to fish. He was a devoted husband and father. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Lee Upchurch Doler of Ephesus, GA.; one daughter, Samantha Cossey of Alexandria City, AL.; one son, Ray Lee and Christy Loiacano of Veal, GA.; three step-daughters, Anita Hogan of Dickert, AL., Kathryn Morgan of Alexandria City, AL., and Sylvia Watts of Marion, S.C.; one step-son, David Hogan of Daviston, AL.; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
