Mr. Mercy C “Bill” Fears, the son of the late Mr. John Willie and Mrs. Lizzie (Cofield) Fears, was born November 20, 1934 in Chambers County, GA. He departed this life on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at his residence.
“Bill” , as the was known to most, accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. B.C. Carter, Jr. Bill was a faithful members and was a member of the church’s deacon board.
Mercy C was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Ruby (Barber) Fears in 1955 and into this union two children were born.
In the fall of 1973, Bill and his wife, Ruby, opened their life time dream “Bill Fears’ Nursery”, where he remained the owner until his passing.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a devoted son, Dwayne (Cynthia) Fears, West Point, GA; a loving daughter, Carmea (Jeffery) Fears-Fuller, Stone Mountain, GA; four grandsons, Micah Fears, Tampa, FL; Timos Fears, Atlanta, GA; Matthew, and Andrew Fears, West Point, GA; one granddaughter, Ninah Fuller, Stone Mountain, GA;
two great granddaughters, Miciah Todd, Valley, AL and Olivia Ruby Fears, Tampa, FL; two sisters, Julia(Cecil)Rushton and Doris(Robert)Robinson, Buffalo, NY; four brothers, Henry Lewis Cofield, Lanett, AL; Sammy J. (Mary)Fears, Bennie (Neal)Fears, Anniston, AL; Norman(Paula)Fears, Buffalo, NY; four brothers-in-law, eight sisters-in-law, an array of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
