I remember Glenn from Jr High. Creston. Or maybe it was Warren Central. I reside in Ft Myers now. I thought we shared Mr Barnes class, history. The same class when the we watched the shuttle Challenger. Glenn was always quiet and respectful. He had a shy smile and always looked down. When he did say hi, the depth in his eyes revealed ages of wisdom. We were friends at school. I was quiet, also. Nerdy, but I ran track and played in Orchestra. We didn't really hangout a lot. He seemed focused on class and homework. But He always acknowledged my presence when I passed by His locker. I think he was in band ? Tympany? I apologise, I don't have my yearbook to confirm. My son Eric was born September 5th 1995. I heard later about Glenn's passing and realized how close the dates are. We may have had chem class together? My father Steve Robertson was a Vietnam Veteran. And my son Eric's uncle Dan is a retired Marine. My name Marnie means saltwater or ocean "of the sea". I have not served but I am thankful and grateful for those who do and for the freedoms I have because of Glenn's service and sacrifice. In Christ's world, and word, Glenn does not lose, He has gained everything of Heaven. And what is bound in Heaven is bound on Earth and what is loosed in Heaven is loosed on Earth...Even though I did not spend all of my days in school with Glenn I count him as a friend. I wish I could talk to him, or just spend one of those days in class studying with him.. I actually have a class picture I still carry of Glenn. We had a kinship I guess. The scripture states in Colossians.. Think on the higher things, For His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, His ways higher than our ways... I know we here on Earth feel the loss....I wonder when Glenn was sitting in the cockpit if He thought how close to Heaven He would be flying. Glenn's whole Spirit was Heaven brought down to Earth. Glenn is a good person throughout. His eyes and smile are a reflection of Heaven. I still remember. He was shy I think. I hope this accounting helps his mother and loved ones to know what an impact in a small way..had on a classmate. I hope this brings you peace. And I hope that Glenn got to experience true friendship and love. Thank you Glenn.

I sit in Wyoming looking out at the beautiful blue sky and the mountains and I cannot help but think of the great, no the ultimate sacrifice you made for me and many others so that we have the freedoms to do these things. Michael I look forward to the day that I will have the opportunity to me you in heaven and salute you for your great sacrifice. Fly high, fly straight and fly in the wind that GOD has given you...

More than a half century ago a young boy was born. His destiny was to serve and protect. Mike served well, gave his all so that we are able to exercise our Freedom as Americans. As returning vets we gave, as for Mike he gave his all. We salute you Captain Mike. There will be a day when we all shall serve in God's paradise. I have said this before and I shall say it many times again, Mike see ya there my friend...

Seems as though it were yesterday that we made a post and tribute to Mike. Time goes by so quickly when a love one is missed. Some make great sacrifices and return home, others make the ultimate sacrifice and Go Home. We must remember we will all reunite with these great hero's, what a glorious day that will be. God Bless Mike, Joyce, and dad Mike as they all have made a great sacrifice. We all will reunite in God's time...

This day is a reminder that nothing except God's forgiveness is free, all others things have a price. The reminder today is that Captain Mike gave the ultimate sacrifice for all. We shall never forget that sacrifice. A tribute also goes out to Mike and Joyce for bringing this young man into the lives of so many. Michael grew up to be a man that selflessly gave his all. Someday we will all be re-united celebrating the love of GOD together, until that day Michael you shall be remembered by your friends and family.

Hi precious son. I was just reading Hemmings online Saturday. Advertised for sale, a beautiful 77 Lincoln Town Coupe. Green with tan interior. It brought back so many memories of your 77 TC and all the work you did on it. You are in our thoughts so much this time of year then I saw this car and it took me way back to the good times we had tinkering on it at the shop.
Merry Christmas in heaven. Love and miss you sooooo much.

A year doesn't go by I don't think with great fondness the sweet memories I shared with Glenn. Now, as a mom of 4 boys, whose oldest is seeking out a career as a military pilot, my heart aches more than ever for all you have been through, Mom and Dad Blaisdell. I am praying for you and I hope you may see rainbows of promises to come throughout today.  On Angels Wings

I was going through some old pictures- and found one back from the 1970s. I remember playing with Glenn- he (probably his dads) had a big train set in the basement in the house in Indianapolis. I also remember getting my thumb smashed in his dad's car door. I think it was a big yellow convertible. Sorry to hear he had passed so many years ago. I remember good memories when we were children.

God is the creator of all that is good and beautiful in this world. He outdid Himself with Glenn! He placed Glenn with the most amazing parents and family to help sculpt him into the kind, loving, faithful, funny, and loyal man that he was. Having Glenn in my life was one of the greatest gifts God ever gave me and I will forever be a better person because of him. -Forever loved and never forgotten- Kristina Hankel Douberly

High Flight ~ John Gillespie Magee Jr.

August 22, 2015

"Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -
and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of -
wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence.
Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along
and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
where never lark, or even eagle, flew;
and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
the high untrespassed sanctity of space,
put out my hand and touched the face of God."
