This website was created to honor Michael Nolan for his service. Mike proudly served his country as a demo sergeant on a US Army Special Forces (Green Beret) A Team. Mike served as a combat engineer with ODA-9, Company B, 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 1972 to 1974.

I knew Mike most of his life, as we were related... I was out of the service by the time he went in, but we kept in touch in later years. He was just as much a hard charger as a civilian as the City Administer of Norfolk and with the insurance program of the Neb city managers assn. We worked together on a range of projects and he will definitely be missed.

Humanities Nebraska

June 23, 2016

It was an honor to serve on Humanities Nebraska with Michael. He was a perfect gentleman, always in attendance and on time. He has a way of bringing out the best in his fellow board members. Since he is a good listener, he has a way of weaving the best thoughts from his colleagues. When Michael is part of the team, discussion is focused. People feel empowered to contribute and to make a difference in pursuing the mission of the organization.

At the end of the day, Michael knows how to recreate a good Irish story or two over a quality single malt Scotch. Whenever I am with Michael, I learn something new. I always feel safe and hopeful.

When God created this man, he had a special plan for him. We are lucky he is sharing his talents with community development in Nebraska. His integrity, wit, perseverance, and good sense of humor is a remarkable package.

Happy birthday to a great man!
