Mildred Finch Boyd, 83, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Thursday May 23, 2013 at Granville House in Oxford, NC.

A native of Vance County she was the daughter of the late Ora Wade and Myrtle Jane Jackson Finch.  She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.  She worked at Roses, Outdoor Supply and, for many years, was a childcare provider in her home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25th, 2013 at Providence Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Pittman. Burial will follow in Knotts Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford, NC.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years Melvin Lee Boyd of Oxford, NC, a daughter, Cinderella B. Lyon and husband Laurie A. Lyon of Sanford, NC, two sons Ruben Wade Boyd and wife Barbara of Goldston, NC, Melvin Foster Boyd and wife Jane of Oxford, NC, six grandchildren, Laurie Ann LeGrand, Zachary Lyon, Adam  Boyd, Dusty Boyd, Michael Boyd and Jessica Boyd and seven great-grandchildren, Keaton Lyon, Julianne LeGrand, Annabelle LeGrand, Walker Boyd, Adalyn Bowen, June Lyon, and Clara Lyon  two sisters, Carolyn Moss of Oxford and Shirley Paine of Parrott, Virginia. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 4603 Old Route 75 Oxford, NC 27565.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 24th 2013 for 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford, NC.
