Mrs. Mildred Mahone Copeland of Columbus passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at her home. She was 51 years of age and resided at 821 Rosa Drive.

The daughter of Mrs. Johnnie Mahone Whaley of Columbus and the late Richard Whaley, Mildred was born in Midland, GA on December 31, 1962. She was a member of Wynnton Hill Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, with the Mass Choir, Youth Ministry and Director of the Youth Ministry. She was retired from CB&T Bank where she worked as a Teller.

Survivors, other than her mother, include: her husband of 13 years, Mr. Willie Copeland, Jr.; a son, Joseph Hunter, III (Shenita); three daughters, Takiesha Hunter, Sharonda Hunter and Jamilla Hunter; one step-daughter, Shanta McDaniel (Kenneth); three grandchildren, Jariya Whittlesey, LaCoya Whittlesey and Kyler Hunter; three brothers, Kelvin Mahone, Robert Whaley and Jerold Mahone; two sisters, Teresa Williams (Eugene) and Carol Mahone; her god children, Teneka Hunter and Joseph J. Hunter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
