The day you where born

April 17, 2011

The day you where born was the best day of my life.  You may have taken forever to come out but when you did you took my heart away. I never thought that I could ever feel that way about some one till i saw you. when the Dr's said that they need to take you do to you have some problems I thought that I was going to die. later that day they told me that you had 24 hours to live and to name you and spend as much time with you as I could .

I then named you Mitchell Paul Merritt,  meaning of god I never prayed for any thing in my life as i did that day , then you got stronger and stronger as the days went on, after 31 days in the ICNCU i finally got to take you home.

From that day on you made my life fulfilled , the smiles you gave me every morning , the giggles and the way you steeped at night i new you where a miracle.

you not only brighted my life but thoughs around you , Gram-ma Wilma never left your side she never gave up on me or you. she was my rock when i needed it and there to help me with you. even after the day you died you have never stopped touching my life every day. There isn't one thing that I do that don't remind me of you or the smell of you , for instance one day the family and i where down in the dells we where waiting on a slide and i feel someone grab my hand and it was a little girl she was down-syndrome too and her dad apologized and I said that ok he said she never touches people but she must thing you specal i then said that i too had a son as specal as her she then hugged me and smiled, that day stays with me all the time. It is little things like that that make me smile and think of you .

Mitchell Paul Merritt

a kid who could brighten up your day with his contagious smile, or his heart-warming laughter.

a protective and caring brother.

a cherished son.

Mitchell was no ordinary boy. Born with Downs Syndrome, his life was no easy feat, but he made everyday worth living. He lived as if he hadn't a care in the world. However, due to one doctor's neglect we can hear his chuckle, eye brightening and see his fun and fancy free smile only in photographs and video footage. We want to honor him by putting a smile your face, and reminding you that life is what you make of it. This website is just a glimpse into the joy Mitchell brought to us, we hope this brings a little joy to you too. He is dearly missed.

In loving memory, this is dedicated to you.
