Her Life
December 5, 2011

On behalf of our father Amir Goudarznia, who was too devastated and distraught to express himself during Mimi's services. Nothing in life is as painful or disheartening than confronting the sad reality of loss of one's child. My dear Mimi, I love you more than anything, I want  you to know I love being your father, in my own imperfect way, everything that flows out of me ,comes from the fountain of my love and adoration for you.Your loss is only in physical sense, you  have not left my heart and soul, I feel your presence all around me , I sense your love, your caring, your smile ,your beauty all the time. I had  a dream , in which you communicated your gratitude to your loved ones, Your Mamani and Papa ,your husband Houshang, your daughters Haleh and Avid, and your loving son Bobbak, as well as your sisters Forooz, Aryan and brother Freydun. How that fate bereaved me of the pleasure of your company and gratuitously relieved me of unbearable pain. I enjoy the tranquility and indemnity of shortness of breath, the praise and applauses of family and friends, hearing the selected songs and distinguished ceremony arranged. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my dear relatives,friends.Doctors,nurses,coworkers. In my dream you had your last wish, Please strive as always to take advantage of this basic and humane character of our family, (help others) With Love (Mitra)

THE DEPTH AND VALUE OF LIFE IS NOT ONLY MEASURED BY HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE IMPORTANT THINGS , BUT ALSO BY HOW MUCH WE IN  TURN  ARE  APPRECITATED  , MIMI WAS APPRECIATED BY EVERYONE SHE CAME INTO CONTACT. MIMI WAS A ROLE MODEL FOR THOSE WHO VALUED COURAGE, INTEGRITY, HONESTY, KINDNESS, CARING AND HARD WORK ETHIC.SHE WAS A FREE THINKER, A PROTOTYPE  FEMINIST RIGHTS ACTIVIST WITH A DEEP SENSE OF RIGHT AND WRONG ,AND UNDERSTANDING HUMAN STRUGGLE. HER RESILIENCE AND STRONG SURVIVAL INSTINCT DATES BACK TO LONG AGO AND IN A FAR AWAY PLACE. IN 1955 THERE WAS AN OUTBREAK OF BACTERIAL MENINGITIS IN NORTHEASTERN IRAN, MIMI WAS ONE THE FIRST. SHE WAS PLACED IN ISOLATION FOR MANY DAYS WITH VERY LITTLE HOPE FOR RECOVERY, BUT AGAINST ALL ODDS  SHE FOUGHT HARD AND HELD ON AND SURVIVED. WE KNEW THEN THAT SHE WAS A VERY SPECIAL PERSON. THAT FIGHTING SPIRIT, DETERMINATION,AND STRENGTH REMAINED WITH HER UNTIL THE VERY END. SINCE YOUR PASSING MIMI, I LOOK UP EVERY NIGHT AND SEE YOU AMONG THE STARS AND THE SKY LOOKS BRIGHTER . WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS- UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. YOUR FAMILY     - Fred Goudarznia
