His Life

Mr. Larry, “Bug”/ “Sweet-Thang”, Bailey, Jr. was born March 14, 1978 in Langdale, Alabama.   He was reared by his loving parents, Larry and Carol Ann Mackey Bailey, Sr., his late grandmother, Gertie Mae Brown and his late great-great-grandmother, Mae Lillie Truitt.

Larry joined Bethlehem Baptist Church of West Point, Georgia at an early age.  He was baptized under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. W. T. Edmondson.  He received his education in the Troup Public Schools,  graduating in 1996 from Troup County Comprehensive High School in LaGrange, Georgia.  He furthered his educational studies at Middle Georgia College where he received an Associate Degree in Communications.  He received further education in Virginia, earning certification in Hexagon Metrology and OMM programming.

Larry was joined in Holy Matrimony to Alicia L. Magruder in 2006.  He was a hard worker, a loving husband and father and enjoyed providing for his family until God suddenly called him home.  Larry Bailey, Jr. departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2013.

Larry leaves to cherish his loving memories:  a devoted and loving wife, Alicia L. Magruder-Bailey; six children, Jonathan Magruder, Jeremiah Bell, Zaria Bailey, Christine Bailey, Kaitlynn Bailey and Lauren Bailey; loving parents, Larry and Carol Ann Bailey, Sr., West Point, GA; three brothers, Bruce (Katrice) Mackey, Byron, GA, Carlos “Chris” Hurston, Marietta, GA and James “Jimmy” Bailey, LaFayette, AL; his maternal grandmother, Christine Mackey; West Point, GA; his paternal grandmother, Thelma B. Williams, West Point, GA; a special aunt, Zelma Brock, West Point, GA; devoted father-in-law, Ernest “The Honorable” (Juanita) Magruder, Shorter, AL; mother-in-law, Alberta Magruder, Tuskegee, AL; two  brothers-in-law; devoted cousins, Michael Davidson, Randall Brock, Justin “Dick” Brock, Louis Davidson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends; and, his K-9 daughter, Chloe.
