His Life
July 24, 2014

Mr. Walter Willie Shealey was born October 4, 1928 to the late R. T. and Rosanna Melson Shealey in Lee County, Alabama. He was the eldest of four children. He was affectionately known as “Boy Baby”, “Strong” and “Walt”.

At an early age, Walter accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Burrell Chapel A.M.E. Church. He was a dedicated member until his health failed. Bro. Shealey enjoyed his duties serving as an Usher, particularly as a Parking Attendant. He retired from West Point Pepperrell after many years of service.

Gardening was his favorite hobby. Each year he planted a garden. If there was dirt near Walt’s dwelling, he had plants growing. He was kind-hearted and eager to share his harvest.

Walt was preceded in death by his siblings, Sarah Shealey, Tommy Lee Shealey, Rose Willie Jacques and three step-brothers, Enoch Wimberly, Bubba Wimberly and Albert Wimberly. Walter W. Shealey departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home, Valley, Alabama.
