Her Life
December 17, 2013

Barbara J. Gordon Easley was born Barbara Jean Harper on May 24, 1950 to the late proud parents Curtis and Sandy Weakly Harper in Harbor Hospital, Carson California.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013 Barbara Gordon Easley was called home to be with the Lord.

Barbara was a child of a US Army Serviceman.  She had the opportunity to travel to foreign countries & from state to state in the United States.  Purple & Gold were her favorite colors, because she was the Queen of her "Throne". When settling in Los Angeles, California, she graduated from Fremont High School and was married at the age of 15 to Ronnie Gordon, Sr.  In this union three children were born, Ronnie Gordon, Jr., Steaphanie Gordon and Keennen Gordon. Barbara was the first black person and woman to be employed at Richmond Oil Refinery in Wilmington, California.  Along with many other job experiences, Barbara was employed in transportation where she met her present husband, James Steven Easley.

They were married in 2002 at Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, California where she was a faithful member until relocating to Lanett, Alabama in 2006.  January, 2013 Barbara began attending Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point, GA. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Addison Liner, son, Keennen Gordon and brother-in-law, Billy Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, James Steven Easley; children, Ronnie Gordon and Steaphanie Gordon (Rob) Chambers; 15 grandchildren, Ronnie Gordon III, Ieshia Gordon, Ronnesha Gordon, Sharonda Gordon, Champagne Gordon, Trevor Gordon, Roosevelt Gordon, Joseph Ford, Kendrick Sparks, Keennen Chambers, Christian Blivens, Kaleah Gordon, Shakeena Gordon, Keennen Gordon, Jr. and Kaylen Gordon; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Thomas and Micheline Renee Ferrell, both of Lanett, AL; one aunt, JoAnn Weakly; mother-in-law, Americia Easley; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
