Her Life
January 6, 2015

Mrs. Juanita Elizabeth McCauley St. George

One by one to the grave are borne – the youthful and gay, the aged and worn.

On January 3, 2015, the sweet spirit of our Dear Sister, Juanita St. George, went to join the Savior in that home not built with hands, but whose maker and builder is God. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lizzie Bonner McCauley and the wife of the late William St. George.

She received her education in Chambers County and Tuskegee, Alabama. When a child, at the age of seven, she was converted and joined the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was baptized by Rev. A. J. Green. She loved the church and loved to serve any place that she could. Mrs. St. George was one of the most faithful members of her church – she gave her time, her talent, and her money. And, she did it all without murmuring. Sister St. George served as Counselor of the Nurse’s Guild, a member of the Choir, member of the Missionary Society and member of the Matrons. Mrs. St. George always met you with a smile. Her pure religion was so spread over her life, that she drew friends to her of the Caucasian race as well as of her own race. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse from East Alabama Medical Center.

Her survivors include: one daughter, Janie Hannah, Monroe, GA; five grandchildren – one grandchild whom she reared as her son, Alex Hannah, Cusseta, AL, Shonda Hannah, Stefan Hannah, Brent Hannah and Lemarus Hannah all of Monroe, GA; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
