Miss Lina Anne Nix, 82, a resident of Cambridge Place, Opelika, Alabama, went home peacefully to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 4, 2015. Lina was born in Lowell, Georgia, on Saturday, September 3, 1932, of parents Ernest D. Nix and Annie Duncan Nix, who later resided in West Point, Georgia.

 

Lina was born again spiritually early in life at the Valley-wide E. J. Daniel Crusade on the Shawmut Circle. She was seldom seen without her Holy Bible after that event. Although Lina was special-needs person, she enjoyed loving relationships with those she came in contact with and made friends easily. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in West Point, Georgia.

 

Lina is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest D. Nix and Annie Duncan Nix; her brother, Wendell Lloyd Nix, an Army Air Corps pilot who died May 3, 1944 in WWII; her sister, Ernestine Nix (Bill) McGregor, and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Davidson (Jim) Nix. Lina is survived by her older brother, James R. (Jim) Nix of West Point, GA, who was her loving caregiver. Other survivors are Jim’s children: Nanci Nix Hendrix (John) Rieder of West Point, GA; Marie Nix (Frank) Dixon of Camilla, GA; and Nathan (Sherri Lynn Sanders) Nix of Lanett, AL. Also by her deceased sister’s children: Bill McGregor, Jr. of Anderson, S.C.; Anne (Jim) Bruce of Cornelia, GA; Marian (Connor) Smith of LaGrange, GA; Graeme (David) Heintze of Anderson, SC; David (Nancy Jones) McGregor of Anderson, SC.
